Finding Kosher anise extract is really difficult, so I found a recipe to make my own!
Making your own though requires a little patience as it take 2-3 months.
2 teaspoons dried fennel seeds
240 ml Vodka
1 glass jar with screw top lid
Place the fennel seeds and the vodka in the glass jar.
3 times a day for the first week, shake up the jar.
Allow the seeds to steep in the vodka for 2-3 months.
Can’t wait that long
If this is too long for you to wait, you can use a licorice flavoured liquor like arak, ouzo, or sambuca instead.
