This is the only ice cream recipe you will ever need, it is easy and versatile.
250 ml Orley whip or other cream substitute
125 ml sugar, castor sugar is better, but you can use regular sugar
4 eggs (no need to separate)
5 ml Vanilla essence
Put the whole lot in your mixing bowl and beat until stiff peaks form. No need for extra bowls. Freeze for at least 8 hours.
Strawberry – replace vanilla essence with a packet of unsweetened strawberry or cherry or raspberry jelly.
Chocolate – add 30 ml cocoa powder
Coffee- replace the essence with 5 ml instant coffee dissolved in a little boiling water and add
Nut – add 1-2 cups chopped nuts
Peanut butter – replace essence with 5 ml peanut butter softened in boiling water
Serve and enjoy.
